Being the principal of Abiqua School is a varied job. It includes overseeing the safety and education of all of the children as well as the master planning of the curriculum. The principal supports and helps the teachers and staff as they do their jobs. Meeting with the Board of Trustees and staying in frequent communication with parents as we partner to make every day the best for our students is an important component of the job. The principal is often in a position to be an advocate for outstanding education. It is an exciting and rewarding job. The best part is being with enthusiastic students every day.

Any destination that has the opportunity to be near water and nature. I love to travel and have great memories from Africa, Europe, Japan, China, Canada, and Mexico

My Family Is:
My husband, Bob, who is also an educator. Our grown sons, Brian and Rob. Brian is Dean of Students in a large high school. Rob and his Wife, Dana, are both nurses in the heart transplant unit at the Mayo Clinic. We have two wonderful grandaughers. Their names ar Zoe and Piper.
The Pets I Have Are:
Our lively Jack Russelll named Rip-Lee.
My Hobbies Are:
working out, swimming and golfing

My favorite unit is Hot Chocolate on Fridays with the students.

My Educational Philosophy Is:
Research shows that there is a different biochemistry in the student who feels capable and confident. It is vital that educators structure the school experiences to create a safe and intellectually challenging atmosphere. Our goal is to facilitate depth of experience and pattern recognition that sets the stage for life-long love of learning.
