Subject: Instructional Assistant/Child Care

Position: I have been at Abiqua since March 2001.

My job is to observe kid at play! What fun! I believe that time to play should be an important part of everyone's day. The skills we "learn" are invaluable for our whole life. I remind Abiqua students what it looks like to be respectful, responsible, and safe while they are "out to play."

Here's some things about me you might want to know:

I Love Being A Teacher Because:
I love what I do! I'm allowed to wear many "hats" at Abiqua. Tutoring, filing, editing, substituting could all be a part of any day for me. Overall, I am always in awe as I watch kids mature (in so many ways) right before my eyes! And, as an added bonus, I learn something new everyday!

Denver, Colorado

I Grew Up In:
California, and Oregon since third grade

I Went To College At:
Chemeketa

My Favorite Color Is:
Yellow

My Favorite Place To Visit Is:
My grandsons, Terron's & Nollan's Plyaroom. Where we swing, dance and play dress up!

My Favorite Vacation Spot Is:
Anywhere that I get to by driving. Enjoying the journey is half the fun!

My Favorite Food Is:
cookies!

My Family Is:
three adult daughters, Tiffany, Rina, and Rachael; several grandchildren, two sons, Isaac and Daniel who keep me young!

The Pets I Have Are:
Babby, our cockatiel, and a leaopard gecko named Izzy

I Love Abiqua School Because:
I get to work and be around some really incredible people. I am truly blessed.
